Church of Saint Martin in Jarocin, Gothic church in Jarocin, Poland
The Church of Saint Martin is a brick structure with a layout shaped like a Greek cross. Inside, a single nave connects to five altars positioned throughout the interior space.
The original wooden structure was built in 1257 by the Jarocki family. A major reconstruction between 1773 and 1787 transformed the building into its present form.
The main altar displays artwork from the 18th century with baroque sculptures of saints positioned throughout the interior. These pieces shape how the space feels and show the spiritual importance of the building to its community.
The building is easiest to visit during weekends when multiple services take place. Visitors should know that the interior is primarily an active place of worship, so planning your visit around service times makes sense.
The building contains an organ installed in 1909 by Alexander Schuke's company with 14 voices. Additional components were added during the 1920s, making it a notable example of early 20th-century organ craftsmanship.
