Holy Trinity church in Gniezno, Gothic Catholic church in Gniezno, Poland.
The Holy Trinity Church is a Gothic place of worship in Gniezno with a polygonal chancel and large pointed arch windows. The nave is structured by four bays and measures approximately 14 feet (13.8 meters) in width by about 105 feet (32 meters) in length.
Construction began in 1421 following land acquisition and was completed in 1430, but a devastating fire in 1613 made extensive reconstruction necessary. This rebuilding shaped the building's appearance for the centuries to follow.
The church houses a Literary Brotherhood chapel from the 17th century, and visitors can still see the original Gothic iron sheet door to the sacristy from the 15th century. These elements reflect how the local community maintained its religious and cultural practices across generations.
The building stands west of Pyzdry Gate near Gniezno's defensive walls. The location remains open to visitors year-round and offers regular religious services.
The tower displays a blend of different building periods, with original Gothic windows that were later bricked up and subsequent Baroque additions topped by a cupola. This layering makes the tower an architectural record of the location's complex history.
