Built in 1900 as an Orthodox garrison church dedicated to Alexander Nevsky, the building was transferred to Catholic administration after Poland regained independence in 1918.
The church underwent significant transformations from its Orthodox origins to its current Catholic identity, reflecting the changing religious demographics of the region.
The church stands at Wojska Polskiego Street, accommodating up to 2,000 people for regular services and religious celebrations throughout the year.
During reconstruction in 1958, the original single tower design was replaced with two towers, marking a departure from its initial Orthodox architectural style.
