The Saint Michael Archangel Church contains a three-walled apse and features an octagonal tower at its main facade with distinct Gothic architectural elements.
The church construction began around 1524 by Jan and Elzbieta Shemetovich, replacing an earlier wooden structure on the same location in central Gniezno.
The structure demonstrates the evolution of religious architecture in Poland, combining Gothic foundations with Renaissance additions such as varied cornices and arched windows.
The church maintains regular opening hours for visitors and conducts religious services, with public transportation stops located within walking distance of the entrance.
A preserved cannonball mark remains visible in one of the church walls, dating from the military conflicts of 1654-1667.
