St. Michael's Church, Grodków

St. Michael's Church is a brick structure in Grodków built in Gothic style, featuring high ceilings and pointed arches throughout. The nave is divided by rectangular pillars supporting cross vaults, while a rectangular chancel closes off the eastern end.

The building first appears in written records in 1282 and survived a fire in 1449 that led to reconstruction. A major renovation took place in 1671 during the Counter-Reformation period.

The interior holds artworks from Renaissance and Baroque periods, including a main altar from 1728 crafted by sculptor Michael Kössler and painter Melchior Franziskus Ansi. These pieces shape the visual character of the space and reflect the artistic traditions that developed here over centuries.
