Muzeum Sprzętu Gospodarstwa Domowego w Ziębicach

The Muzeum Sprzętu Gospodarstwa Domowego w Ziębicach is a museum dedicated to household equipment and everyday items, housed in the historic town hall at Rynek 44. Its collection features irons, refrigerators, washing machines, and copper goods spanning from the 17th to the 20th century.

Founded in 1931 as a regional museum covering local history and artifacts, it underwent a major shift in 1973. That change transformed it into Poland's first institution focused solely on household equipment and domestic technology.

The rooms here recreate how Polish households looked during different time periods, with furnishings and everyday objects arranged as families would have used them. Walking through shows how domestic life changed over the centuries.

Guided tours work best for understanding how the different items and devices were actually used in daily life. Regular workshops teach traditional household methods and give visitors a chance to try historical techniques.

The collection holds more than 200 irons spanning four centuries, showing the complete evolution of this everyday tool. This abundance allows visitors to follow small improvements and changes step by step through time.
