Museum of St. Maximilian

The Museum of St. Maximilian in Niepokalanów presents three separate exhibition areas with photographs, personal items, and documents from the saint's life. The collection includes correspondence, clothing, and other objects that document his journey and work.

The museum was founded in 1998, replacing an earlier display housed in a wooden chapel at the monastery from 1927 to 1929. That chapel marks the earliest beginning of memorial activities at this location.

The museum honors a Franciscan whose life and work shape the community here. Visitors see throughout how his spiritual message guides the monastery and those who live there today.

The museum is accessible daily and offers guided tours in multiple languages. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes, as the monastery grounds are extensive and involve considerable walking.

The third section contains a collection of international Franciscan missionary items, including a portrait made from thousands of postage stamps. This unusual art form shows the worldwide connection of his followers.
