Established in 1964, the museum occupies a former evangelical church building and represents the first Polish institution dedicated to match-related items collection.
The museum demonstrates the evolution of match production through labels that reflect social changes, industrial development, and artistic styles across decades.
Located at Mały Rynek, the museum opens Tuesday through Saturday from 8:00 to 16:00 and Sundays from 10:00 to 16:00, with guided tours available.
The collection includes 70 satirical works by artist Andrzej Mleczko alongside historical fire-making tools, from ancient olive lamps to modern electric lighters.
