Ogród Botaniczny w Grudziądzu, Botanical garden in Grudziądz, Poland.
The Ogród Botaniczny w Grudziądzu is a small garden located between Bema and Armii Krajowej streets, designed with diverse tree species and flowering plants. It features a sun clock and multiple planted areas that create different zones throughout the space.
The garden was founded in 1933 at the initiative of the Grudziądz City Beautification Society and opened to the public in 1935 as King Jan III Sobieski Botanical Park. It was later redesigned multiple times to update its plantings and facilities.
The garden serves as a learning space where local students study plant life and ecology throughout the year. Residents also use it as a place to walk and observe the changing seasons among the plantings.
The garden is open during daylight hours, with extended access during warmer months. It is flat and easy to walk through, making it suitable for brief visits, with paths connecting all areas.
The garden was extensively renovated in 2007, with new plantings of junipers, pines, larches, rhododendrons, and magnolias that continue to shape its appearance. These trees and shrubs are still relatively young and will mature over time.
