Kasprowicz Park in Poznań, Public park in Łazarz district, Poznań, Poland.
Kasprowicz Park is a public green space of about 9 hectares in the Łazarz district, with numerous walking paths, mature trees, and resting areas. The grounds also contain a sports hall and an outdoor swimming pool.
The grounds were planned between 1936 and 1939, but their opening was postponed due to World War II. During the war, the gardens suffered damage from German forces.
A stone obelisk with Jan Kasprowicz's face stands at the intersection of Jarochowskiego and Niegolewskich streets, honoring the Polish poet. The site carries his name and serves as a local landmark for residents.
The park is freely accessible and offers many places to rest along wide pathways. Visitors will find sports facilities, an outdoor pool, and several food stands with seasonal meals on the grounds.
In March 1945, aircraft carrying wounded Soviet soldiers landed on the park grounds, which temporarily served as a landing strip. This episode shows how the war affected everyday places.
