Jordan Park, Urban park in Krowodrza, Poland.
Jordan Park is a large green space in Krowodrza featuring sports fields, playgrounds, walking paths, and trees including century-old elms and limes. The park provides different areas for activity and rest among mature vegetation.
The park was founded in 1889 by physician Henryk Jordan on grounds previously used for agricultural exhibitions. His idea was to create a space where children could play and exercise outdoors.
The central area displays marble busts of notable Polish figures, creating an outdoor gallery of national achievements. These sculptures honor writers, artists, and political leaders who shaped Polish culture.
The park is easy to reach and offers wide paths for various activities like walking, sports, or play. Most areas are accessible and well-marked, making it straightforward to find your way around.
A statue of the bear Wojtek, who served with Polish forces during World War II, stands as a memorial in the park. This unusual tribute honors the animal that participated in campaigns and supported soldiers.
