Palace in Lewków

The Palace in Lewków is a Classical building featuring a symmetrical layout with a central structure flanked by two matching wings. Built between 1792 and 1795, it now serves as a branch of the Kalisz District Museum and welcomes visitors to explore its rooms.

General Wojciech Lipski purchased the Lewków estate in 1786 and commissioned the construction of the palace between 1788 and 1791. The Classical building became the residence of one of the region's prominent families in Greater Poland.

The interior features ornate plasterwork and wall paintings created by Antoni Smuglewicz that reflect the taste of Polish nobility in the late 1700s. These decorative elements shape the character of the rooms and show visitors how the aristocracy of that era lived.

The building is open to visitors as a museum with rooms furnished and decorated to reflect different periods. The surrounding park with ancient trees and a pond can be explored year-round and provides pleasant walking paths.

The site is surrounded by a landscape park spanning 8 hectares that protects ancient pedunculate oaks designated as natural monuments. A pond with an island within the park adds a reflective quality to the grounds.
