The monument presents Stefan Starzyński, the former mayor of Warsaw, standing tall with a map of the city in his hands at Saska Street.
Initially installed in Saxon Garden in 1981, the monument moved to its current location near Primary School 143 on Stanów Zjednoczonych Avenue in 2008.
The statue serves as an educational landmark for students and residents, commemorating the mayor who directed Warsaw's defense during September 1939.
The monument stands on a concrete pedestal near the entrance of Primary School 143, making it easily accessible from both Saska Street and Stanów Zjednoczonych Avenue.
The original pedestal of this monument contains materials from the destroyed Brühl Palace, connecting the structure directly to Warsaw's wartime history.
