Bishops Palace in Wolbórz

Bishops Palace in Wolbórz is a two-story structure built on a rectangular plan and features outbuildings arranged in a formal composition. The grounds include terraced gardens, walkways, and a linear water canal that runs through the center of the property as the main organizing element.

Construction began in 1768 under Bishop Antoni Ostrowski as a new episcopal residence for the Kuyavian diocese. The project emerged during a period when the church modernized its administrative presence in the region.

The palace served as a seat of religious authority and shaped how the region's leadership was exercised. Today, visitors can see how the formal gardens and symmetrical design reflected the importance of the bishop's role in the community.
