Port lotniczy Gądów Mały, Historical airstrip in Gądów Mały, Wrocław, Poland.
Gądów Mały Airport was a civil airfield in Wrocław featuring a passenger terminal built in 1936, multiple hangars, and facilities for aircraft manufacturing. The site spread across a substantial area on the western side of the city.
The airfield was founded in 1910 as Flughafen Klein-Gandau and initially served military purposes during World War I. After the Versailles Treaty, it transitioned to civilian aviation operations.
The facility housed the Wrocław Aeroclub and became a center where glider aircraft were built in large numbers. Local residents connected this place with aviation activities and the region's technical progress.
The airfield was located about 5 kilometers from downtown Wrocław and was easily accessible from the city center. Visitors should know that the site is now part of a residential neighborhood and no longer functions as an active airport.
The site became famous in 1930 when the airship Graf Zeppelin landed there. This visit was a major event for the city and showed the airport's role in European aviation.
