The statue depicts Jan Zamoyski on horseback holding a baton in his right hand, reaching a total height of 10 meters.

The monument was unveiled on September 17, 2005, marking 400 years since the death of Jan Zamoyski, who established the Renaissance city of Zamość.

Professor Marian Konieczny, creator of numerous national monuments, designed this bronze representation that stands in front of the Entailers' Palace.

The European Regional Development Fund contributed to the monument's construction through a regional program spanning from 2007 to 2013.

The monument stands on Akademicka Street as a central reference point for guided tours exploring the UNESCO World Heritage site of Zamość.
