Łomnica Palace, Baroque château in Łomnica, Poland.
Łomnica Palace is a Baroque residence in Łomnica composed of a main dwelling and a separate building known as the Widow's House. The two structures stand at the intersection of roads leading to Karpniki and Wojanów.
The estate was founded in the 17th century when the von Zedlitz family held power in the region. Ownership passed through different families, each bringing their own influence to the property.
The interior keeps its original room layout with extensive wall paintings from the 18th and 19th centuries. These paintings show the artistic traditions that the successive owners valued over time.
The palace operates as a museum today, while the adjoining building serves as a hotel with rooms, dining, and refreshments available. Visitors can explore both structures and take advantage of the facilities on site.
Between 1803 and 1804, Christian Gottfried Mentzel had the Widow's House built specifically to house an aging family member of the estate. This structure reveals how residents of that era cared for their elderly relatives.
