Szymański Palace in Zawiercie, Cultural heritage villa in Zawiercie, Poland.
Szymański Palace is a brick villa built on a stone foundation in Zawiercie. The property features an ornamental park with connected ponds and the Młynówka River running through the grounds, creating a landscape with water features at its center.
The villa was built in 1897 for Stanisław Szymański, a prominent businessman who directed a major company in Zawiercie. Warsaw architect Hugon Kuder designed both the building and its surrounding park.
The villa now houses the Municipal Public Library, Major Tadeusz Klimas Memorial Chamber, Music School branch, and Novum Club.
The villa now serves as a cultural and educational hub for the local community. It is advisable to check opening hours ahead of a visit, as different sections house various institutions with their own schedules.
The park surrounding the villa features an English landscape design with a sophisticated water management system of interconnected ponds. This design served both decorative and practical purposes, channeling rainwater across the entire property.
