Nature reserve Czarnia, Nature reserve in Mazowieckie Voivodeship, Poland.
The Czarnia Nature Reserve is a protected forest area in Mazovia with ancient pines and spruces forming a dense woodland. Walking trails wind through the forest, offering access to different sections of this protected landscape.
The reserve was formally established in 1964 and expanded in 1985 to protect a larger portion of the original forest. This growth reflected the increasing recognition of the area's ecological value.
The forest holds an old connection to beekeeping practices among local communities. These pines were historically chosen for their suitability in supporting traditional honey production methods.
Access to the reserve is possible from provincial road 614 near the intersection with the county road toward Czarnia-Bandysie. The terrain is forest, so sturdy footwear and awareness of weather conditions make visits more comfortable.
Four pines in the reserve have been marked as monument trees, some reaching ages between 160 and 210 years. These ancient specimens represent living evidence of the forest's long history and its traditional role in local beekeeping.
