Nature reserve Zbocza Płutowskie, Nature reserve in Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland

Zbocza Płutowskie is a nature reserve covering limestone slopes with dry grasslands and shrubs in two municipalities along the lower Vistula River. The site contains grassland and shrubland communities adapted to rocky, calcium-rich soils.

The reserve was established in 1963 as a small protected area and expanded during the 1980s to include more limestone slope habitat. It was later designated as part of a larger European protection network for biodiversity.

The reserve contains the largest concentration of xerothermic vegetation along the lower Vistula River, representing significant botanical research value for Polish scientists.

The reserve is accessible on foot via the Chełmno Reserves Trail, which guides visitors through protected areas in the Vistula Valley. Spring and early summer offer the best conditions to see flowering plants in their growth period.

The reserve protects rare spring pheasant's eye and Siberian bellflower species that grow naturally in only a few European locations. These specialized plants thrive only on the particularly dry, calcium-rich soils found on these slopes.
