Graduation Tower in Radlin

The Graduation Tower in Radlin is a structure with wooden frames filled with blackthorn branches, positioned over salt water that trickles downward. The water flows slowly and creates mineral-rich mist as it passes through the branches.

The tower opened in 2014 as part of modernization efforts in the Upper Silesian region. It revived historical salt extraction techniques and adapted them for contemporary wellness use.

The tower connects traditional salt production methods with modern wellness practices, fitting naturally into the industrial landscape of the region.

The site is best visited in calm weather when the salt-laden air is most noticeable. Early morning or late afternoon visits offer fewer crowds and a more relaxed experience.

The blackthorn branches that form the core of the structure must be completely replaced every five to ten years as they wear from constant water flow. This regular replacement is essential to maintain the effectiveness of the salt water evaporation process.
