Muzeum Kultury Ludowej Pogórza Sudeckiego, Folk culture museum in Kudowa-Zdrój, Poland.
The Museum of Folk Culture is an open-air site with traditional wooden buildings and farm tools spread across a hillside ranging from 515 to 590 meters in elevation. It holds more than a dozen historical structures from the Sudeten Foothills region, each one showing how people lived in these hilly areas.
The museum was founded in 1984 as a branch of the Regional Museum in Wałbrzych and focuses on structures and objects from the 18th to early 20th centuries. The collected items come from the Sudeten region and document how rural life changed across different generations.
The buildings contain period furniture and household items that show how people in these mountain communities lived and worked in earlier centuries. Walking through them gives a sense of daily routines and family life from that era.
The site has sloping terrain that requires time to explore, so plan to wear good shoes and bring enough time to walk around comfortably. A parking area and restrooms are available, with shaded spots among the trees, which becomes important on sunny days.
At the hilltop stands a reconstructed windmill from which you can see the distant peaks of Snieżka and Karkonosze mountains. This elevated spot offers more than just a working mill to observe - it provides views that would have been meaningful to people living in this historical region.
