Palace in Kłobukowice, Eclectic palace in Kłobukowice, Częstochowa County, Poland

The Palace in Kłobukowice is a 19th-century eclectic palace with Gothic, classical and Renaissance elements. It consists of a two-storey main building, a wider single-storey wing and an octagonal four-storey tower with a neo-Gothic parapet on the east side. The usable area is 495 m², and the façades are rusticated.

The estate was bought from the counts Skarbek by Edward Reszke, brother of the opera singer Jan Reszke; the family also owned Skrzydlów, Garnek and Borowno. From 1922 the palace belonged to Edward's daughter Janina, wife of Colonel Adam Nieniewski, and in the 1930s the Nieniewskis leased it, then transferred it to the city of Częstochowa as a summer retreat for children. After the Warsaw Uprising about two thousand children from the ruined capital were housed here. Nationalised later, it held a school and then an orphanage; in 1989 it was sold to the Rural Youth Union, whose building plans collapsed in 1991, and in 2023 it went to auction, bought by Ryszard Kaczorowski.

The palace is in Kłobukowice, Częstochowa County, not Silesia. Its cultural layer comes from the Reszke family: the opera singers Jan and Edward Reszke owned the estate, and guests at their properties included Marshal Edward Rydz-Śmigły, Warsaw president Stefan Starzyński and General Józef Haller. From 1922 the palace belonged to Edward's daughter Janina, wife of Colonel Adam Nieniewski.

The palace stands in Kłobukowice, Częstochowa County, in the Warta valley, not in Silesia or Gmina Mstów. Since late 2024 the grounds have been fenced, partly lit and under renovation, with new roads and paths laid out, so access may be restricted. The park, with its old lindens, chestnuts and maples and a newly dug pond, is being restored.

The 18th-century granary in the park has a vaulted cellar that was meant to become a banqueting hall and beer cellar during the unfinished 1990s conversion; the work stopped in 1991 and the partly rebuilt walls still stand beside the palace.
