Grobisko ariańskie w Krynicy, Pyramid tomb in Krynica, Poland.
Grobisko ariańskie w Krynicy is a stone pyramid structure in the village of Krynica measuring 20 meters high with walls 80 centimeters thick made of stone and brick. The square base spans 7.35 meters and encloses a crypt beneath its peak.
Pawel Orzechowski, a Chelm chamberlain, commissioned this burial pyramid in the early 1600s because he could not be buried in Catholic cemeteries. The structure sustained damage during World War II and underwent restoration work between 1956 and 1957.
The underground burial space was designed with small circular openings on three sides that allow light to filter through, creating an intimate chamber for viewing.
The pyramid sits on Arianska Mountain and is accessible by a marked trail that connects villages in the region. The elevated location offers clear views of the surroundings and allows visitors to approach the structure from different angles.
The original top section of the pyramid was removed and is now displayed at Krasnystaw Regional Museum, leaving the structure modified at its peak. This separation preserves both the monument itself and a key element of its original design.
