Gawrony Castle, Medieval castle in Rudna, Poland

The stone and brick structure of Gawrony Castle includes upper and lower sections, with remaining fortification elements spread across the grounds.

The castle originated before 1612 when a member of the von Niebelschütz family received permission from Emperor Rudolf II to construct a chapel.

The castle grounds contain a ceramic workshop established in 2013, where visitors learn about traditional pottery techniques and regional craft history.

The castle site sits along the Rudna-Chobienia route, surrounded by forest areas to the north and southeast, with farmland covering the remaining borders.

The estate name evolved through centuries from Gaffarum in 1499 to Gaffron in 1555, finally becoming Gawrony after 1945.
