Park miejski im. J. Poniatowskiego w Piotrkowie Trybunalskim

The municipal park in Piotrków Trybunalski covers 7.2 hectares between Żeromskiego, Żwirki, and Parkowa streets with planted areas and ponds spread throughout. Walking paths connect different sections including gardens where visitors can move freely through the grounds.

Engineer Józef Skrobanek designed the park in 1916 during Austrian rule, when public works projects provided employment for local people. The botanical garden section was added later in 1927, expanding the original green space concept.

The park holds memorial stones for national hero Tadeusz Kościuszko and poet Adam Mickiewicz, making their importance to Polish history visible to visitors. These monuments are woven into daily use of the space and connect people to key figures of Polish culture.

The grounds can be entered through five different gates, with the main entrance on Żeromskiego Street providing the most straightforward access. Facilities inside include tennis courts and an ice skating rink that operates during colder months.

The botanical garden section displays rare tree species including cork oaks, honey locusts, and white pines arranged in designed green compartments. This collection brings together unusual plant varieties in one location that visitors might not expect to find.
