Brama Kaliska

The remnants of Brama Kaliska include stone foundations and fragments of walls that indicate its former position at the city entrance.

Built in the 15th century as part of Wieluń's defensive system, the gate underwent transformation from wooden structure to stone construction in the late 16th century.

The gate foundations now support a commemorative cross, marking the location where travelers and merchants entered the city on their way from Kalisz.

Archaeological excavations conducted between 2001 and 2002 revealed the original foundations, which visitors can observe at the intersection of city streets.

Two small towers positioned at the end of the stone entryway provided additional fortification until the gate's demolition in the 19th century.
