Stefan Żeromski Museum in Nałęczów

Stefan Żeromski Museum in Nałęczów, Biographical museum in Nałęczów, Poland

The Stefan Żeromski Museum in Nałęczów is a small wooden cottage that preserves the writer's actual workspace with original furnishings including a desk, sofa, chairs, armchairs, and a bed separated by a screen. The single room shows how the author lived and worked during his time here.

The building was designed in 1905 by architect Jan Koszczyc-Witkiewicz in traditional Zakopane style and became the workshop of the renowned Polish writer. The location was later preserved as a memorial to his contributions to Polish literature.

The exhibition shows personal items belonging to the writer, including notebooks, school materials, travel sketches, and his extensive private book collection that reflect his creative work. These objects reveal how a Polish author of the early 1900s lived and thought about literature.

The museum is within walking distance from Nałęczów's center and consists of a single room with authentic furnishings that are easy to view. Visitors should take their time looking closely since the space is small and filled with details.

Behind the cottage stands the mausoleum of Adam Żeromski, the writer's son with his wife Oktawia, adding a deeply personal dimension to the memorial. This quiet remembrance on the grounds connects the writer's literary story with his private family loss.
