Manor in Szczurowa, Palace complex in Szczurowa, Poland.
The Manor in Szczurowa is a two-story brick building with projecting sections on three sides, a hip roof, and decorative stone plinth details. Surrounding this main structure are several service buildings including a granary, carriage house, stable, barn, residential quarters, and an administrator's residence.
The complex was built around 1900 when Janusz Tyszkiewicz commissioned the work and architect Tadeusz Stryjeński from Krakow designed and oversaw its creation. This period of construction reflects the architectural thinking of that era.
The octagonal ballroom at the heart of the complex shapes how people move through the interior with its double-height space and connection to the garden outside. The symmetrical fan-shaped staircases create a graceful link between the indoor and outdoor areas.
The site is best explored on foot and allows you to see how all the buildings are arranged around the property. The surrounding landscape park provides ample space for a leisurely walk across the entire grounds.
The surrounding landscape park preserves trees over 150 years old while a pond marks the northern edge of the property. These ancient trees carry memories of the place's past.
