Instituto Superior Técnico

Instituto Superior Técnico is a higher polytechnic school in Areeiro, a district in eastern Lisbon, specializing in engineering and technology fields. The grounds stretch across several building complexes with research facilities, workshops, and teaching spaces connected by courtyards and wide corridors.

The school opened its doors on May 23, 1911, as a standalone technical institution and later became part of the University of Lisbon. Over the decades, the facilities and curriculum grew to meet changing demands in science and industry.
