Castelo de Veiros, Medieval castle in Veiros, Portugal.
The stone fortress features defensive walls in a trapezoidal layout, constructed with slate masonry, granite, and marble architectural elements throughout its structure.
The castle's keep was built in 1308 during King Dinis I's reign as part of a border fortification plan executed by the Order of Avis.
The São Salvador Church, erected inside the castle grounds in the late 16th century, replaced an earlier 13th-century religious building.
The municipality of Estremoz maintains the castle site, which received restoration work between 1998 and 2000 to preserve its historical structures.
Three of the original four gates remain in the castle walls, providing access points that connect to different sections of the fortification.
