Palacete of the Visconts of Balsemão, Public building in Cedofeita, Portugal.
The three-story palace features granite facades with ornate cornices, large windows, and decorative elements arranged in a horizontal composition with a triangular tower.
Constructed in the mid-18th century by nobleman José Alvo Brandão, the palace later became property of the Balsemão family through the marriage of Maria Rosa Alvo.
The palace contains the Material Base collection, displaying architectural elements from Porto's buildings, including azulejo tiles dating from the 17th to 20th centuries.
Located at Praça Carlos Alberto 71 in Porto, the building houses the City Council's Culture and Heritage Department with exhibition spaces on the ground floor.
Between 1834 and 1837, during the Liberal Wars, the palace served as a temporary location for the Academia Politécnica do Porto.
