Igreja de São Julião

Igreja de São Julião stands as a three-nave structure with Manueline portals and a white facade decorated with 18th-century blue tiles inside.

The church, initially built in the 13th century by local fishermen, underwent major reconstruction after the 1755 earthquake that reshaped its architectural features.

The interior walls display detailed blue and white azulejo panels depicting scenes from the lives of Saint Julian and Saint Basilissa.

Visitors can access the church Monday through Saturday from 8:30 to 12:00 and 15:30 to 17:30, with modified hours on Sundays.

The church clock tower contains a Swiss-made timepiece, which remains stationary as a testament to the international connections of this Portuguese monument.
