Igreja matriz de Atouguia da Baleia

The Igreja matriz features a central nave with two side aisles, separated by pointed arches and decorated with marble-lined walls throughout the interior.

Built in the 12th century, this religious structure gained National Monument status in 1949 and remains the oldest Christian church in Peniche municipality.

The Gothic entrance displays carved capitals with mythological figures, while the interior contains notable 16th-century paintings and ornate altarpieces.
