Palacete Anjos

Palácio Anjos is an arts centre in Algés featuring elaborate architectural details with intricate tilework throughout its interior spaces. The rooms preserve traditional Portuguese design elements and now function as exhibition galleries with multiple display areas.

The palace was constructed between 1875 and 1876 as a summer residence for merchant Polycarpo Pecquet Ferreira dos Anjos and was the first of its kind built in Oeiras. Its creation marked a turning point in the building history of the region.

The space functions today as a meeting point for contemporary art presentations and artistic exchange among visitors. Regular exhibitions and events here engage audiences of all ages with diverse creative works.

The location is easily accessible near public transportation and Algés center, making visit planning straightforward. Walking access from the nearby town center means you can reach it without major detours.

The building was originally named Miramar and was designed as a private summer estate before becoming an art facility today. This transformation shows how historical residences can take on new purpose as cultural spaces.
