Casa do Ferreira das Tabuletas, Cultural heritage building in Sacramento, Lisbon, Portugal.
Casa do Ferreira das Tabuletas is a four-story building with a facade decorated with glazed tiles designed by painter Luis Ferreira in 1865. The ceramic work covers the front elevation in a visually distinctive pattern of figurative and ornamental elements.
Manuel Moreira Garcia, a Galician immigrant and owner of Cervejaria Trindade, commissioned construction in 1864 on the grounds of the former Trinity Convent. The building thus repurposed a historically significant site while combining commerce with artistic expression.
The exterior displays six allegorical figures in ceramic that represent Earth, Water, Commerce, Industry, Science, and Agriculture. These detailed works reflect the economic values and aspirations of the period when the building was created.
The building is located at the intersection of Rua da Trindade and Largo Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro with good access to public transportation nearby. Its central position makes it easy to visit on foot while exploring the surrounding historic district.
Portuguese caricaturist Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro, creator of the famous Ze Povinho character, lived in this building until his death in 1905. His residence here connects the house to an important figure in Portuguese artistic history.
