The granite sanctuary stands at an altitude of 990 meters on Monte Farinha, featuring a quadrangular bell tower, octagonal nave, and rectangular chancel.
First mentioned around 1500, the sanctuary underwent reconstruction in 1755, with additional improvements marked by the date 1775 inscribed on the pulpit door.
Three major religious festivals draw thousands of pilgrims: the Ascension Festival in May, Santiago pilgrimage in July, and Annual Pilgrimage in September.
The sanctuary operates from May to September between 09:00-12:30 and 14:30-19:00, while winter hours run from October to April between 09:30-12:30 and 14:30-17:00.
The interior displays granite domes, barrel vaults, stone choir, two side pulpits, collateral altarpieces, and a carved polychrome rococo chancel.
