Saint Margaret Church in Mediaș

Saint Margaret Church stands at Piața Castelului 1 in Mediaș, featuring late Gothic architectural elements and a defensive tower system.

Construction of the current structure began in 1437 and continued until 1488, initiated by the Transylvanian Saxon community after an Ottoman raid.

The church holds one of the largest collections of Transylvanian rugs dating from the 16th to 18th centuries within its preserved walls.
