Snagov Palace, Royal palace on Lake Snagov, Romania

The elegant palace stands on the western shore of Lake Snagov, featuring neo-Renaissance architecture and formal gardens with fountains across its grounds.

Architect Henrieta Delavrancea-Gibory constructed the palace in 1932 for Prince Nicholas, brother of King Carol II of Romania.

The palace exhibits the Romanian Brancovenesc architectural style, incorporating traditional design elements that represent the national heritage of the region.

Located 40 kilometers northeast of Bucharest, the palace currently serves as a venue for conferences, official banquets, and private celebrations.

On December 22, 1989, during the Romanian Revolution, Nicolae Ceausescu and his wife used this palace as their final refuge before capture.
