The church stands on a hill with a 29-meter tower and features a three-nave layout with Gothic architectural elements from the 13th century.
First documented in 1328 as Chenk, the church underwent reconstructions following Turkish invasions in 1493 and endured severe fires in 1789.
The altar displays a central painting of Doubting Thomas created in 1524 by Vincentius, a painter from Sibiu, alongside preserved guild coat stands.

The church tower houses three bells, with the oldest originally cast in 1512 and all three recast in 1789 following a destructive fire.
