Coopers Tower is a stone building with four floors and thick walls displaying architectural elements from different construction periods. The structure shows craftsmanship from earlier eras and preserves details spanning multiple centuries.
Built in the 15th century during Bistritza's fortification phase, it is the last surviving structure from an original network of eighteen defense towers. Its preservation makes it a valuable witness to the region's medieval military construction.
Inside, an art gallery organized by the Nosner Land Cultural Association displays regional artworks and historical items that reflect the area's creative traditions.
Located at 14 Dogarilor Street, the tower is currently closed to visitors due to maintenance needs. Check with local tourism offices before visiting to learn about any openings or access conditions.
The tower features a gravel roof design that sets it apart from other medieval structures in the Transylvanian region. This uncommon roofing choice reflects the practical building methods of earlier craftspeople.
