Poiana cu narcise de la Racâș-Hida, Nature reserve in Salaj County, Romania.
Poiana cu narcise de la Racâș-Hida is a protected nature reserve on a hillside in the upper Jernau Valley, defined by meadows full of wild narcissus flowers. The site covers about one and a half hectares and is bordered by oak and hornbeam trees.
The site gained official protection status on March 6, 2000 through Law No. 5 and became part of the Natura 2000 network. This designation marked the beginning of formal conservation efforts to maintain the wild narcissus populations in the valley.
Local people call the narcissus flowers "cocorotele" and gather here during spring to observe the blooming meadow. The hillside holds meaning as a seasonal meeting place tied to the rhythm of rural life.
The reserve is accessible via National Road DN1G, which connects Hida and Galgau Almasului and provides clear access routes. Spring is the best time to visit when the narcissus flowers bloom and the meadow is most enjoyable to walk through.
The meadow contains two special wild narcissus species, the star narcissus and the narrow-leaved narcissus, that grow naturally together here. These particular varieties are uncommon in other parts of Europe, making this location noteworthy for plant enthusiasts.
