Poienile cu narcise din Dumbrava Vadului, Nature reserve in Vad, Romania
The Dumbrava Vadului reserve spans 394 hectares of oak forests and meadows, containing millions of white daffodils that bloom among the trees in May.
The area received official protection status through Law No. 5 in March 2000, establishing specific conservation measures for its natural habitats and wild species.
The annual Daffodil Festival takes place on May 21, coinciding with Saints Constantine and Helena Day, featuring traditional Romanian music and local customs.
Visitors can reach the reserve by following DN1 road, then DN73A to Vad village, and finally taking the communal road DC107C to the protected area.
The reserve contains six distinct natural habitat types, including Dacian oak forests, mixed riparian forests, and various grasslands supporting rare plant communities.
