Founded in 1859 as a section of the Transylvanian Museum, this institution stands as one of the oldest zoological museums in Romania.
The museum maintains collections of Romanian and international fauna, including specimens of extinct species that were once native to the Carpathian region.
Located on Clinicilor Street numbers 5-7, the museum opens Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and weekends from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
The exhibition features unusual specimens such as two-headed calves and Australian animals like the platypus, displayed in traditional wooden and glass cases.
