Pančevo

Pančevo sits where the Tamiš and Danube rivers meet and spreads across both sides of the Tamiš. The city presents itself as a mix of parks, residential areas, and older buildings that form the character of an industrial center.

People settled at this location in prehistoric times, but it gained official city recognition in the late 19th century. This transformation relates to the end of the military border system that had shaped the region for centuries.

The city is easily reached from Belgrade by bus or the E70 European highway that passes nearby. It is manageable to explore on foot, especially when walking along the river areas.
