Ozren

Ozren Mountain rises to 1,178 meters and features dense forests filled with medicinal herbs crossed by numerous streams throughout its slopes. Several hiking trails lead across the terrain, including one to the Ripaljka Waterfall situated at 420 meters elevation.

The Jermenčić Monastery was founded by Armenian refugees following the Battle of Kosovo in 1389 and was later reconstructed in 1806 by Serbian leader Karađorđe.

The mountain is rooted in local tradition through working watermills, active monasteries, and a yearly folk celebration each July dedicated to the Archangels that brings communities together.

The mountain has many hiking trails at different difficulty levels leading through various elevations and forest sections. Sturdy footwear and proper gear are recommended, especially when walking the paths during wet weather conditions.

A specialized sanatorium on the mountain uses the pure mountain air and specific wind patterns to treat lung conditions. This healing climate attracts visitors seeking therapeutic benefits from the natural environment.
