Veterans' Club Building, Protected cultural monument in Stari Grad, Serbia.
The Veterans' Club Building is a protected monument in Stari Grad and displays modernist architecture with tall vertical windows and a central loggia. Thick stone columns support the front facade and create a strong, solid appearance.
The structure was built in 1932 through donations from veteran organizations as a memorial to soldiers. During Nazi occupation from 1941 to 1945, it was repurposed as an administrative building.
The building serves as a gathering place for veterans and regularly attracts people interested in military history. Its spaces host exhibitions and events that showcase and tell stories about soldiers' lives.
The building is located at 19 Braće Jugovića Street in the Stari Grad district of Belgrade and is easy to reach on foot. Visitors should check ahead about events, as access may be limited at certain times.
The original architectural plans included stone sculptures of historical warriors that were never built. These forgotten designs show how plans changed during the construction process.
