Lesosibirsk

Lesosibirsk is an industrial town stretching along the eastern bank of the Yenisey River, surrounded by forest and dominated by wood processing facilities. The river and rail lines serve as key transportation corridors that connect the region to surrounding areas.

A village called Maklakov Lug existed here in the 1600s and eventually split into two settlements before merging in 1975 to form the current town. A Norwegian businessman brought industrial wood processing to the area, which expanded into a major operation over the decades.
