Venyov, Administrative center in Tula Oblast, Russia.
Venyov sits along the Venyovka River in Tula Oblast. The town spreads across gently rolling terrain surrounded by birch forests and green fields typical of the Russian forest-steppe zone.
The settlement was founded in 1371 and was initially located 7 kilometers away from its present site. It received official town status in the 18th century.
The town functions as the primary administrative hub for Venyovsky District, maintaining local governance traditions and community gatherings throughout the year.
The town is best explored on foot since the center is compact with key buildings easy to reach. The best time to visit is late spring through early fall when the weather is mild and the surroundings look green.
The population of Venyov has experienced notable fluctuations, growing from 4,300 residents in 1856 to over 14,000 in recent years.
