Andreapol is a town in Tver Oblast located on the Valdai Hills at an elevation of 220 meters (720 feet) along the left bank of the Western Dvina River. The railway line connecting Bologoye and Velikiye Luki runs through the area, and several guesthouses serve visitors passing through the region.
The settlement began in 1489 as Dubna Volost and became a town in 1907 when regional infrastructure expanded. This transformation happened alongside the development of railway connections through the area.
